Why is ICT important?

Contemporary research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute of Multimedia Education in Japan, acknowledged that an increase in student exposure to educational ICT through curriculum integration has a significant and positive impact on student achievement, especially in terms of “KnowledgeComprehension” · “Practical skill” and “Presentation skill” in subject areas such as mathematics, science, and social studies. Grandparents’ Day

As part of our inquiry unit of ‘Then and Now’ we decided to have a “Grandparents and Special Relatives Day” to celebrate and help us understand how it would have been to live in (and before) their day.We held a ‘Games of the Past’ morning where we participated in activities such as: quoits, marbles, skipping, Kacks, Pick Up Sticks, hula hoops, elastics and hopscotch.  These games brought back many memories (including how flexible we used to be!).  We had an awesome time together and gained a greater understanding of how sometimes ‘the simple things in life are often the best’.

We love cooking in 2C. So far, we have made both pancakes and ANZAC biscuits. We learnt about the history behind these foods and how they came about. We had a lot of fun cooking these items together and they definitely passed the taste test! Bon appetite!
