Book Character Dress Up Day

On the 23rd August we had a book character dress up day. This was to help celebrate Children’s Week as well as to raise money for MS (Multiple Sclerosis). We all looked fabulous in our costumes and enjoyed parading with our buddies for the mums and dads. Ashan won ‘best dressed’ from our grade. He came as Mr Twit from Roald Dahl’s fabulous book, The Twits!

More adventures with Katie

Katie has been getting around – exploring more and more of our gardens.  She seems to have changed a bit over the time though.  We think its probably due to what she has been eating 🙂

Mini-beast Wildlife Visit

Today (26th August), my class and I had a visit from the Mini-beast Wildlife Centre.  There were spiders (tarantula, huntsman, redback), praying mantis, scorpions, beetles.  Some were venomous, dangerous and even deadly!!  The mini-beasts that were dangerous were in a jar.

My favourite mini-beasts were the snails.  I learnt that they are both male and female at the same time!  I didn’t want to touch the stick insect because it looked like it was going to bite me!
